Manchester United is the world’s first billion dollar football brand
Record breaking deals agreed by Manchester United see the club’s value soar despite two mediocre seasons on the pitch. Barcelona’s victory in the Champions League final over Juventus sees $28 million added to brand value but the Catalan club is still overtaken by Chelsea and Manchester City as English clubs benefit massively from the increase in TV rights money.
This is the 9th annual Brand Finance Football 50, the only study of its kind to analyse and rank football clubs by the value of their brands. This year’s report is packed with analysis and commentary and features an article on visual identity by VI360’s Tom Connell along with club and sponsor interviews.
